it depends on the type of training that is being performed.

with free weight working out 3 hours in a row is detrimental to growth. after 2 hours of high intensity exercise the levels of catabolic hormones increase drastically. plus there is only so much you can do in one training session to stimulate a muscle.

I would think it depends on what type of training is going on for the 3 hours. During my running days, we trained for about three hours per day, but we stretched, did power drills, sprint drills, technique drills, and a warm up and cool down. This easily took the full 3 hours, but the type of training varied.

if u can get the motivation to do so then good on you... but a 30min to 1 hour workout is all you really need. i personally only do about 5min of ab workouts a day and my stomach benefited coz i can now see a 6pack after 2weeks of work.
