find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food

i will tell you this. i run a restaurant right now and i eat a egg white veggie omellette for breakfast and another one for lunch. i run AT LEAST 5 TO 6 MILES A DAY ON THE ELYPTICAL MACHINE, burning at least 1000 calories on that. watch the bad carbs and eat good carbs you know like brown rice and brown noodles!!! trust me that wasnt easy for me, i am half asian and run a asian restaurant i LOVE white rice, but i gave it up and since ferbruary i have went from 267 to 197 right now and my goal is to be around 177 around june and i will hit it. i also use a supplement called methyl rip which is available at gnc, but i am a guy and you being a girl you might want to use something made specifically for women. anyway eat lots of protein like turkey salads with egg whites and fresh veggies and cheese, egg white veggie omelettes are good, and drink lots of water and only skim milk. no pop or juice. to be honest work out in the morning before you eat breakfast and you will lose the weight faster, you are burning the calories off from the day before and then eat breakfast because your metabolism is at its peak after a good workout. oh yeah and on those salads i only use vinegar and a little bit of oil, or go with your favorite fat free dressing just watch how much.
look i love to eat and love to cook but i wanted to look good this summer and this is what worked for me, i hit it hard man i workout everyday hard. run everday and lift weights every other and in that month you will definitely see the difference.

walking everyday.... eating healthy... no junk food....
salads, fruits, vegetables, baked boneless skinless chicken,
lots of water (8 = 8oz glasses a day) no fast food, as soon as you wake up eat a small breakfast so you can start running your metabolism early. lots of sleep at night.. full 8 to 9 hours.
instead of watching t.v. go to the yard and stretch out or walk around, play games outside with your friends or family.
(Not running around and getting really tired), just staying active...oh, and going to the bathroom alot so you can clean your stomach..Good luck!
