Your body goes into starvation mode. Eat small meals through out the day rather than one meal daily. You'll see results and feel better.

Are you also gaining inches? Bear in mind that muscle weighs more than fat, so if you are toning up and building muscle mass, your weight may increase, but your shape will become tighter and more toned. If this isn't the case, ask your GP to be referred to a dietician/nutritionist - they will check that you eating all the food that you need to avoid your body storing fat. Good luck, Kitten EDIT: If you've been on this new regime for 10 months, then I would definitely suggest going to speak to a dietician/nutritionist. With most diets, you start off by cutting down on the calories that you were consuming before, not too drastically or your body will go into starvation mode and store the fat that you do eat. As you lose weight, you should then keep gradually increasing the amount of exercise that you do to keep burning off the fat. Write down everything that you eat and drink for a week (BE HONEST!!!) and then ask your GP for a referral. Include all ingredients like cooking oil and garnishes, gravy, sauces. If the dietician agrees that this diet should be working, then your GP will probably start some tests to check you don't have any problems that could account for this. Good luck.

You are probably not losing weight because you are only eating 1 meal a day. When you go for several hours without eating, your body goes into a starvation state. Your metabolism slows and you dont burn as many calories. If you can find time to eat small, frequent meals and you should see a reduction in weight as well as an increase in energy.

to lose weight you have to eat every 2-3h. by eating once a day- your metabolism slows down and stores all the calories as fat reserves thinking no food is comming anytime soon.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food

When you stop eating your metabolism shuts down, your body goes on starvation mode hanging on your stored energy (fat) because in prehistoric times, people went without eating for days when moved from one place to the other, and lowering metabolism was the best way to survive.

So, if you want to loose weight you should eat three times a day, to make your body work (metabolizing the food you are eating, of course if it is a low calorie meal) and avoiding it from going on starvation mode.

Good luck!

The reason you arent loosing weight is because you arent eating enough. Sounds odd, but when you don't eat enough, your body begins to store anything you do eat as fat.

Since you are busy, go shopping and find some good on-the-go breakfast foods. Maybe a protein bar and a peice of fruit. Eating breakfast is one of the best changes people can make, because it revs up your metabolism and keeps your from overeating later.

Your body needs regular food to work, as you are only eating one meal per day everything you eat your body will store as fat because it is not sure when it will be fed again and how long it will need to make that food stretch.. eat 3 meals a day and two snacks or alternately eat 6 small meals.

Reducing calories (have about 1200 a day) limiting carbs and sugar and eating five times a day. Breakfast-snack-lunch-snack-dinner. Cardio combined with weight training at least 5 times a week for an hour each time, don't eat 3 hours before bed, this forces your body to burn fat instead of calories.

Doesnt mean that, if you eat less, you will lose weight. If you skip meals like this, then you will get ulcer (stomach disease) and later on, you will not be able to eat any kind of food. So, dont avoid meal. If u dont have time, take plenty of fruit juice and water. If u skip meal, gas develops in your stomach and so you dont lose weight.
