How do I become an ordained monk?

I see that you are a bit confused. Ordination is of a priest. A monk does not have to be a priest, but can be. So being a monk and being a monk who is also a priest are 2 different things.

Lets start with becoming a monk. First decide which type of Religious live fits with who you are. Do you want an active life of service in the world? if so what you want to be is called a Friar. If you want to be a contemplative, that is one who stays in one place, enclosed in a monastery, that person is called a monk.

Then you visit some of the different orders and see which one feels right. You will be able to tell where God is calling you. One will just feel right to you.

There is a long process of discernment before you become a life professed monk. It takes many years. You might look at is as a long engagement before the final vows that bind you to that monastery for life. There are many places on the web where you can get information.
