The symptoms you describe definitely sound like carpal tunnel syndrome. Repetitive motion is what causes this syndrome. You need to get wrist supports to help when you do your work. See your medical doctor and get a full evaluation. Many people I know have gotten the surgery on both hands, one at a time, and were able to be pain free and do normal things again.

Carpals are the small bones in your wrist.
The carpal tunnel is the curve that is made by these bones.
All the nerves and tendons that make your hand work pass through the underside of the wrist, through this "tunnel" of small carpal bones.
Carpal tunnel syndrome is when swelling and inflammation occurs in the tissue going through the tunnel area. This is caused by repetetive stress such as typing too much, or it can be caused by pregnancy, arthritis, and other health problems.
The symptoms include numbness and tingling in the 4th and 5th fingers of your hand, and pain sometimse shoots up the forearm
If both hands and arms are having symptoms, there is a higher likelihood of having some systemic problem. The symptoms you describe are not typical of cts, but could be cts. Could also be something else. You should go to your doc and have some bloodwork, including glucose, thyroid, etc. and let your doc take a look.

there is a tunnel like area on the bottom of your wrists and nerves go thru it and when the tunnel gets smashed down it puts pressure on the nerves and causes tingling and pain and causes you to drop things and your arms hands and wrist to fall asleep and hurt. The repair technique is a lot better than when I had mine done.

Yes, you may have carpal tunnel syndrome...it usually happens to people who use their hands too much at work (computers.) Treatment may be placement of hand braces or surgery.
