The Virginia Tech massacre was a horrible, horrible tragedy but in time, it will fade from public view. Only those who have suffered a personal loss will be faced with the struggle to overcome their grief and restructure their life. The survivors will suffer the tremendous loss very intently for a period of time and as they struggle to cope with their grief they will resolve it in many different ways but it will never go away, there will be triggers that bring it all back again in vivid detail.

After the reports have been filed, the investigations have been completed and the recommendations made, people will calm down and feel secure, then complacent.

Most of the people in the self-help group Parents of Murdered Children have strong feelings about this issue as well as Citizens against Homicide. (Members of both national groups have suffered the loss of a loved one to homicide) Compassionate Friends is also a self-help group however it is for parents who have lost a child to any cause homicide, accidental death or disease.

Yeah, I feel bad about the V.A. Tech incident. The only thing that everybody can learn from the incident is to never underestimate anyone, no matter who they are. This should also teach people a lesson to not pick on people. I read in a article on Yahoo news that Cho was picked on a lot during middle school, but wasn't picked on hardly at all during high school.

The worse thing that someone could do would be to take another life. Those people had futures and could have contributed to American society... It's just a shame.

That is what makes us human. We worry about others, strangers, when they hurt. At least in TODAY'S world, there are a LOT of people who have learned in college, and now have jobs, on ways to help people when things like this happen. I read comments from the former students of Colombine, now all adults; the pain never goes away. You just have to recognize you will need help your entire life.

If we ever invent a time machine, hopefully we will go back in time and stop the gun from ever being invented. How many wars would have never been fought if we did not have guns...

Yes, my heart hurts for them all. From now on everyone, even though they never got hurt, their lives are changed forever! Prayers for them all would be nice. If you really want to do something ... you could get names from the paper and write to them personally...I have actually done that before, for others... like when Bill Cosby's son got murdered, I wrote to them and actually got a letter back thanking me....such sad things.....we all need to love each other more...

My first thoughts towards him were absolute DISGUST. All those families that grieve over their children. May they be forever comforted by the LORD. MY perspective: He's lucky he killed himself, cause I sure as hell know if I was mourning over my child. My thoughts would be to kill him, murder him as he did my offspring. BUT 'No' I could not do something like that because that would only make me a HYPOCRITE now wouldnt it. He has done something pathetic. BUT now it is only up too GOD for him to be forgiven. Bye

too late to help now, cho needed a good girl to give him some love and attention. You can help it from happening again by being nice to the lonely guys at school/work though.

I'm behind 1000%. Humans aren't learning from their mistakes. We have to come together, as the human race.
