I got dumped yesterday, and the guy i was dating didn't even do it himself, he had his friend do it, and so i had no idea why. How should i deal with it? How long does the pain last?

Wow, that is though. You should almost punish this guy by pretending you took it as a joke until he is man enough to do it himself.
But realistically, be glad he's out of your live. Do you want somebody who isn't even man enough to do it himself and has to ask a friend to do it?? I know it's rough but he's not worth crying over. He left you because he isn't a man yet and knows you do deserve 100% man.
You'll get over it. Soak in the pain for a while, cry! Do all the stuff to really let out the pain. After that you take action and do something drastic like change your hairstyle or get some new totally different clothes and hit the meat ... i mean single market. Enjoy being single for a while, date.... don't do anything serious until you're over him though!! It will get easier!!!

The same thing happened around 6 weeks ago. I was dumped by a woman out of the blue with no clue why. I may never know why.

The puzzling part is she stopped by here 4 weeks and asked why I haven't called and then last Saturday dropped a call on my cell. My best guess is she either:

(1) Wants me back.
(2) Wants me to come crawling back.

Don't worry about coping with it at all ,,,, The guy is a jerk to begin with and doesn't deserve a second thought ,,,, There are plenty of fish in the pond ,,,,, There's some one out there waiting for you right now ,,,, All you have to do is spot him and make yourself known and let him find you ,,,,

It's time for you to go fishing ,,,, Find some one that's fun and exciting to be with ,,,, Most of the time they come trouble and problem free ,,,, Don't be in such a rush ,,,, Play the field so to speak ,,,, Find out who and what's out there first before you get serious about any one ,,,, Get as wide a range of acquaintances as you can ,,,, This would enable you to make a wiser choice as to who you want to settle down with when you are ready for a more involved relationship later on ,,,,

You never know but tying yourself down to one person just might cause you to miss meeting that Mr Right guy ,,,,

Don't let the experience with this guy bother you in the least and even if it does don't let him or anyone else know ,,,, What goes on in your head is no ones business anyway ,,,, Almost all guys let their glands and egos do their thinking for them ,,,, Obviously you aren't out anything except a big head ache ,,,,

You deserve allot better than him anyway so go fishing and find that special guy ,,,,

Good question ,,,, You got a star for it from me ,,,, Good luck ,,,, Yoda said this ,,,,

Wanna know why he did it? It's probably because he didn't want to feel bad about hurting your feelings. He didn't know what to expect if he were to break the news to you, so he didn't want to be around to see your reaction in case it would be bad. The pain only lasts as long as you think about it . . . so go do something fun! Watch a good comedy or something! Play frisbee golf! Good night!
