Like many members born into the church, my Dad is the one that baptized me. But know that I think about it, I wish I would've waited a couple more years.

I was baptized by my father, too. I was confirmed by my father, our home teacher, and our bishop.

Here's something powerful and funny, though.

My parents are converts and joined the church when I was an infant and my mom was 9 mos. pregnant with my little brother. They were the first baptisms for both of the missionaries that taught them, so the missionaries were really nervous.

First, they tried my mom. It took two tries, because the first time, her tummy didn't go under. The missionary was so nervous about her being so pregnant. And he had reason to be, an hour after she was confirmed, my mom went into labor.

Then my dad. The poor missionary baptizing him only came to his shoulder. He baptized my dad so fast, that the witnesses joked that there wasn't time for the water to close over my dad. But they counted it as good when they realized that the missionary, upon putting his hand over dad's nose, had accidentally hit him and dad had blood pouring down his face when he came up!

The really wonderful/sad thing is that my parents were particularly close to one of the Elders that taught them. But he was suddenly gone and unable to be there for their baptism as originally planned. When my parents inquired about the Elder, it turned out he had been diagnosed with leukemia before his mission and this was why he was serving in Utah. He had taken a turn for the worse a few days before their baptism and had been sent home, where he died about a month later. My mother told me that if it were not for that particular Elder, she probably would have never joined the church, as it was his testimony that touched her the most and made her willing to listen.

A close LDS family friend I'd grown up knowing baptized me and then an Elder who taught me confirmed me. (I grew up in the church. I went with my grandparents until the time I was right then when they moved I started going alone. I got baptized when I was nine.)
