Well there are a number of reasons for somebody to cry when they pray. Here are a few that I know of:
1) You're so happy that you have a relationship with God and so grateful for it.
2) You fear that you might not be doing enough to please God.
3) You feel guilty for something that you have done wrong or a sin that you have committed.
4) You are praying for something that you want so desperately.

Your spirit is praying with the Holy Spirit. And the HS is grieved by the lack of passion and apathy in the Church along with a multitude of other things that are inexpressable to us mortals. It's an expression of submission and humility - don't be ashamed. Pray without ceasing!

I have came to conclude that the tears are from the very presence of YHWH (God), Yahushua (Jesus) or our Guardian Angel.
They are listening and with us, and since they are so pure compared to us, our emotions over flow as tears.
I have noticed the same when I talk or get answers from YHWH, I will tear up and I take that as His presence.

pray to whom? if it's God, then that's just a natural reaction for some people, as prayer requires more than recited words (I don't really think it should be made a habit, reciting prayers I mean).
but judging from the name "karma", I'd guess it isn't God that you're praying to. if you're not, I can't offer any help.

Because you're caught up in your delusion. I cry whenever I watch A River runs through it and my heart pounds every time I watch Interview With the Vampire. Doesn't mean a thing.
