I had my house broken into and the Cops said there was nothing they could do about it. They seem to have time for giving honest tax paying citizens tickets though. Maybe the cops are afraid of the crooks and its safer and easier to bust the good guys for making a mistake.

its called "revenue policing". catching bad guys doesn't make them any money, but setting up speed traps does.

I'm sorry for your loss.

As an honest tax payer, I have deserved most of the traffic tickets I have gotten. Some I did not, but truthfully, I have deserved more.

There is a victims crime fund available for you--set up by most states/counties law enforcement agencies--and you could get counseling to help deal with this.

Can you image how others like myself felt when a family member's murder went unsolved? But whom should I ultimately blame -- the cops or the murderer(s)?

Not every crime is solvable. Not every crime is stoppable.

Call the dectective in charge and ask for the details in your case. At least you will understand why the crime was to believed to be unsolvable. After using private dectectives, our family determined that for the time being, the police were correct ... we cannot solve our family member's murder.

I see what you're saying, but don't get mad at the police.

If tax paying citizens were honest, they wouldn't be driving illegally on the road.

Think about it.

The reason the cops can't usually help with the break-in, is that why would they take there time to track down some guy who stole $50 and no one was killed? They have to find murderers, gangsters, etc... I understand what you mean, and am very sorry for you, but realize that the world does not revolve around you.

No offense.

Ahh, just what kind of ticket does an honest citizen get ??

I thought you had to break the traffic laws to get a ticket.

Wouldn't that make you dishonest and a criminal?

Plus, giving speeding tickets saves lives, it stops people who think they are honest tax paying citizens from driving their cars to fast for road conditions and killing other drivers who obey the traffic laws.

simply put its another way for the government to squeeze tax money out of us without us realizing it ...

no clue but i am a prime taget...ive paid almost two grand in tickets in the past two years....i've been pulled over and accused of the craziest things....speeding on the freeway when i was going with the flow of traffic...then the officer tok an aproximate guess as to how fast i was going and wrote the ticket....pulled over after i had just gotten a ticket for an accident where i was rear ended but i was still claimed at fault...and the PRICELESS one...pulled over because the officer said i flipped him off....he actually ran a red light and cut off traffic to pull me over....i guess black people just shouldnt drive through certain neighborhoods....EVEN THOUGH I LIVE AND WORK THERE!...

an oh yeah the bullshit list keeps going from seat-belt's to supposed "rolling stops"

Because honest people are easier to catch doing something on the fringe and can be intimidated into paying the fine

It is safer to only mess with honest law abiding citizens for the most part they don't fight back.

Driving careless is not a mistake is a criminal act...because due to your driving ignorance you can heart yourself and most important others. So if you do not change driving habits...for the sake of all of us I hope you get more tickets and suspension of your driving privileges.

Be careful. You have to understand that police departments can only do so much. If you would like to see a change, put pressure on your local representatives, aldermen and the like.

Get involved and you can force change.
