I need to know this cause i can't stand living with my parents. I have a cousin who will gladly take me in cause she knows how my parents are. But my mother constantly tells me that i'm going to end up addicted to drugs, a huge slut, and i'm going to go nowhere with my life and that i couldn't just leave her house cause she would call the police on me and my cousin and i'd get thrown in jail. I'm only 14 but i need some help or some advice of any kind.

I think you will find your parent's home preferable to a juvenile detention facility. You will have no rights there and absolutely no freedom. You might just get the crap beaten out of you for no reason at all by some psycho kid you're locked up with. You'll really hate that. If you leave your parent's home and the police pick you up, that is where you will ultimately end up. You might think that your mother is "clueless", but she has been around a lot longer than you and you might be really surprised at how much she is really aware of out there - if she suspects your life will be really messed up with your cousin, there is probably a really good reason. I suggest you consider her point of view, listen to her until you are 18 and then start making your own decisions. Most people are supportive of family members - any particular reason she isn't a fan of your cousin? She has your best interests at heart. You will not understand this until you are a parent, but our biggest fear in life is not being able to protect our children. Let her do her job.

I don't think there is a teen anywhere that can stand their parents. Least of all a 14 year old. It will take a lawyer and a judge to allow you to move out, because your mother is right. She can call the cops...and have your cousin arrested for kidnapping. Even in Michigan. You won't get thrown in jail but you will get taken back to your parents. If you keep running away you will end up in juvi and then you will have a hard time getting anywhere in life...though it won't be impossible.

Don't get yourself mixed up with CPS, courts, and counseling system they are not your friends and have a history of doing damage to many people. Mind your parents and choose your friends wisely.
