find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

how can a 14 yr old order, no less afford jenny craig. geez if you're gonna answer, at least read! well, I hate to say it, but you can't lose 40 lb in a month and a half. You didnt gain it in a couple of months either. Can you ask your parents to see a nutritionist? he or she can help you create a diet and fitness plan to help you lose weight and keep it off so you can be healthy forever, hopefully. Otherwise you need to count calories and write down what you eat. If you read the food label you can see how many calories are in each serving. Make sure you measure it to make sure you know how much you put on your plate. You can google calorie calculator to find out how many calories you need to eat every day. A website called sparkpeople.com is a great site as well. Work up from 20mins to 1hour of exercise daily. you can do exercise videos at home, they aren't very expensive and can be fun too.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

First relax! Now is a great time to loose weight. My main suggestions would be to be aware of the foods you are eating. Do not starve yourself or deprive yourself of what your body needs. You are 14 and need to stay extra healthy while your body is still developing. Water, Vegetables, Fruits, and low calorie snacks are great anytime of day! For exercise start small and work your way up. (ex. I hate running so I try to go for a walk and incorporate running into it).
The best advice I ever heard (for almost all aspects of life) is "Everything in Moderation" --- this means dieting, exercising, studying, shopping, etc..
ps. 40 lbs is a lot but you should be proud of yourself for setting a goal and making the commitment to work towards that!

I used a detox diet to lose weight. "The Raw Food Detox Diet" by Natalia Rose. Buy the book. It'll change your life. I know I'll never look at food the same way again.
Otherwise, I'd suggest you join a weight loss program like Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig and they'll be able to give you lots of tips and mental support. Plus, you have to exercise every day. There's just no way around that.
Good luck!

You already are on your way to reaching your goal by admitting that there is a problem and that you are willing to do something about it. I own a martial arts school in the Bay Area and we have a teenager/adult class that sweats for 1 hour straight, 3 times a week. I suggest joining some sort of group activity that will push you to keep going, even though you just want to stop. Good luck and I wish you the best!

That ain't gonna happen, loosing that much weight that quickly will cause more harm than good. Mind over matter, do what you want. If you want to loose weight than loose weight. I want to be an inch taller, but I,m not. I know how to be an inch taller, but it's to much work, to much, I'm such a woos. I could actually workout, even moderately, I mean a half an hour per day would help, but it's too much. O'well, sorry that I could not help, good luck!

No cals? Water.
Go see a doctor and tell them that you need help. Ask them for some tips, maybe see if they can get you a nutritionist. Then do what the nutritionist says.
