In sound settings on CONTROL PANEL I checked the box to have the speaker icon on the lower right corner of the task bar. Yet, when I re-loaded the computer, it is not there. How do I fix this?

Look for the "Line Out" green outlet on the back of your computer. This is for your audio. Make sure that you plug the speaker plug ALL the way into the socket. They are amplified speakers, so after you have them plugged in the right way, turn on the power to the speakers. Then on your computer, tic on your sound card icon and make sure that it is set up properly and run the sound tests.
