In a general sense, no. Just because something is "natural" doen't mean it is good for you!

You might look up a very good book (written by one of my old professors) called Toxic Plants of North America. Stay away form plants found therein.

You might also look up edible plant books- careful though, some plants have toxic parts and non-toxic parts.

Rose petals are edible, and some are quite tasty, but tea might be stretching it. Rose hips (the fruit of the rose plant) are often made into tea.

Grasses you should probably stay away from- since most of them are toxic unless properly prepared.

"Leaves"... no, don't use leaves unless you know for certain that they are safe. For instance, can you tell the difference between wild onion and death camas? It really is important. One of them is OK to put in salads, the other is appropriately named.

You really should do some research first.
There are quite a few plants in yards and around homes that can really harm you.

You could try making tea out of Tea. That's generally safe. Unless it's jasmine, and only then under very unusual and exacting circumstances.

Sure you can...I work on a heath food store, and we have A LOT of bulk herbs. A question I always ask my customers is if they are on any med. So herbs may interact. Not may however...so you should be safe. Then what do you want the tea to do? If you just want something fun to drink...well the options are endless. I have no idea what you have growing, that would have helped. So common stuff, roes hips ( the berries like thing on roses ) Leaves, well that depends, some common house plants and out door plants are toxic and make you very sick. Peppermint is fun, it grows like crazy and is good for digestion, Rosemary is good too. You can drink it along with putting it in your hair to make it shiny. You could look into chamomile, but not the stuff that grows wild. Hummm...oh, echinachia and goldenseal. they are good for immunity...the list is really long.

Yes, you can make a tea out of many edible kinds of vegetable matter. You mentioned rose petals--more commonly rose water is made from them, and it is used both as a perfume and in food. Rose hips, the seeds after the flower dies off, are commonly made into tea.

Camomile is another example of a tea brewed from another flower.

Well u really couldn't make tea with grass. There are edible pink flowers u can find at Walmart. U can put that in tea. U can only put special types of leaves in tea so be very careful.

Yes, you can make tea with rose hips. It won't taste so good, without lots of sugar or honey, though. You can also use beebalm, mint, sage, violet leaves, Sassafrass leaves or roots (MMM - I like the roots!). There is a website about this type of thing, on www.Care2.com, if you want to go look for it. Annie B Bond tells you how to use all kinds of things to make lip balms, lotions, cleansers for you and your house, even how to use things like cucumbers to get rid of bugs. Give Care2 a try. You will enjoy reading things on there.
