I've picked up a few. They'll even follow me to Science & Mathematics. I demonstrate how to manage an equation and a well crafted answer with each step explained gets a thumbs down. Isn't it nice to know that the thumbs down trolls don't want students to learn things?

I think I had one for a day or so but they stopped.
Sometimes I do get a thumbs down and sometimes I deserve a thumbs down, but not usually on the same answer.
Sometimes I feel like I get a thumbs down just because by views are different. That's no skin off my back. I get my share of thumbs up too.
Actually I'm happiest when I get a few thumbs up and a few thumbs down. That probably means my answer was interesting and made people think about it, or at least care about it.
I'm saddest when I take the time to write a thoughtful answer and don't get any response at all. :)
I'm really curious when I get 1 thumbs up (from the asker) and 2 thumbs down on a question like this one. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ApMkPT5q7RbS8_vX_6I7iArty6IX?qid=20070424222556AAUlFYC&show=7#profile-info-b9dae40ef8a10998c029b6d46aa0359daa
I can't see people knowing the subject matter giving me a thumbs down, so who would have given them to me?

I got a thumbs down for saying I like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in answer to a question that asked if it was okay to throw bananas at Christians. LOL I get them a LOT, for simple answers too. I've even seen thumbs down on every answer to a question where every answerer was a Christian--seems like some people target Christians. But I know atheists and others feel the same way. I think I'll just blame it on trolls. lol

Yep, someone around here just loves to give me a thumbs-down on any question having to do with God, Christianity, or religion whenever that person is on line. I suspect they're also the source of the bogus reports that I get from time to time.
You don't deserve that treatment any more than I or anyone else around here does, but it's a fact of this Forum. If you're stating an honest opinion and not brown-nosing, you're bound to get someone who takes it personally and lashes out.
Try to think of it as a form of flattery. At least your responses are worthy of someone's attention, as opposed to some replies that just blend into the background. God bless you, my friend!

I just assume that somebody's going to thumb me down for my remarks, because they aren't the standard regurgitation of Bible verse. I never thought that I might have a stalker thumbing me down arbitrarily - and that DOES sound a trifle paranoid. But I have given a few answers that were really very even-handed and nonpartisan, answers to which I figured nobody could take exception, and gotten a thumb down - so maybe I do! But, ya know, who cares.

As long as you only got a thumb-down stalker, that's all well and good. It's annoying but can't really hurt you.
Hope you don't get a report stalker, though. They go reporting every single answer you post and sooner or later they get your account suspended.

I understand what you mean. it happens to a lot of people here. Some Christians seem to be after the athiests and some athiests seem to be after the christians. i myself am catholic. i have nothing against anyone because of what they believe or who they are. i think that we should only believe as much as we want to believe. i dont believe in a hell nor a devil and i do not trust bibles or priests. i do not go to church and i pray at home instead. i am expecting to get a couple of thumbs down simply because some one doesnt agree with me. i dont really like it but what can you do? God Bless.

I'm all for altruism and compassion... I don't worry how others perceive me so I really don't think about it, but I did have a cruel clone once who went around spewing hateful junk and upset me badly. If people want to be hateful, have to courage to do it under your own name not hide behind someone else's persona. About the thumbs down... just have a calm mind... they can't insult you if you don't have the buttons to push right?
Nice kitty by the way... I'm a fuzzy critter nut.
