most guys who live with a woman find everything they need, sex, companionship, AND NO COMMITTMENT, so why would a guy want marriage?

As everyone else is saying, commitment is the glue that bonds people together. If there is no commitment you can just go find another at will. He may be scared that he is getting older and less interesting and you might trade him in for 2 guys half his age :)

There is no reason to get married for a guy. Mostly it's the woman who wants to get married and he gives in. And then the party is all over.

maybe because he loves her and wants to know that no matter what, that person will always be there. when you are in a relationship with no commitments, u can just walk out and leave whenever you want to, so, and this is just my opinion, marriage is like an insurance tha that won't happen...

Because he's mature, with no mommy-daddy divorce issues, straight, no childhood abondonment issues, a sense of duty, and a Hell of a wonderful mother.

I think guys just like the fact tht they know "their" girl will be faithful to them and yes it is a big commitment but its just nice for them to know she will always be there for him
