so i've been eating a little less than usual and also eating healthier foods, running about 25 minutes a day at least 3 times a week, i do 150 crunches a day, and i lift 10 lb weights 30 times, every other day.

all i've done is gained weight.

is this normal?

yes, its very normal.
if you want to lose weight - cardio more than 30min 4-6 times a week.
what you are doing is gaining muscle by doing all those crunches and lifting more than doing cardio.

Sounds like you have started a great exercise plan. Keep it up and you will see results, might not happen this week or next, but it will happen slowly over time. Also, try writing down everything you eat and the amount of calories. It could be that you are still eating more then you think are. Make sure to use measuring cups for a while too. Sometimes a cup of rice is smaller then we guess it to be. ;) For a women eat between 1200-1500 calories a day. Along with your exercise routine you should see 1-2 pound loss a week. For guys you'll want to eat a bit more then that.

Well it depends. I'd say that you are gaining wieght because you are building muscle, but if you are only lifting 10lb weights 30 times each time, you are tonning more than building and it shouldn't cause you to gain that much weight.

If you've never exercised before, the running could contribute to muscle gain and cause weight gain too. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat.

Last but not least, take a careful look at your diet. What you may think is "healthy" may not be. If you are eating out, eating fast food, having chocolates etc. then you're not really eating healthy.

Sounds like you might be eating your heavy meal at night. Eat your heavy meal in the morning, or the begining of your day, this way you will burn it off, at the end of your day eat a meat fruit type deal. Keep up the great work you will see the wieght come off and stay off, this time, remember muscle weighs morethan fat and weigh always on the same scale same time of the day, keep in touch because Im doing the same thing

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

Yes, you are gaining muscle weight. You should check your measurements (especially around the belly) or how your clothes fit .

your body is being extra conservative. Eat more food more often, just make CERTAIN it's fat free. That should kick-start your metabolism so you can start seeing results. Also, muscle weighs more than fat but its smaller, so check your mass instead of your weight.
