I tried this question two times already and didn't get the answer I needed. I removed the previous two and I'm trying again. I need to read my milk's expiration date. It says "AL 21 AGRT 1720 13:17 8 A". Can anyone tell me the expiration date? Thanks!

21 days from the date of purchase, it's a dairy product, don't look for a date stamp. If you don't remember when you bought it you've had it to long, buy fresh. What Brand name is your milk?

The number that you showed us is probably the packaging codes for the drivers use.

The sell by dates are always very noticable. It states sell by 5 May 2007. If for some reason there is no date on your milk, I would contact the store I bought it from to find out why it is not dated. Sometimes accidents happen and based on the packaging codes they could check to see if another carton had a date on it and tell you what that date is.

If you are uncertain the dispose of the milk and purchase another gallon. Its not worth getting you or your family sick over.

If the store you use does't put dates on there products the change stores. This means that you have no real answers as to how old the product is.

Hope this helps you out.

Good luck cooking.

The reason you aren't getting the answers you want is because you are not asking the right questions. Those letter/numbers you gave have nothing to do with expiration dates for milk. I have no clue what they are...perhaps origin codes. But they are not expiration dates.

In fact milk in the U.S. has "Sell by" dates on their containers. And the dates are explicit as in "Sell by 2 Feb 2007" so there is no mistaking what the numbers mean. [See source.]

That is not an expiration date. Look elsewhere on the carton.

Look for another code on the carton or call the store where you buy your milk.

I'd say April 21... because AL is like April, see, and 21, well - that's long past...
