I was told that it is ok to exercise abdominal muscles everday. My abs are sore from yesterday, so I decided not to work today. What is your opinion?

Yes they can. In fact your abs ARE used everyday so they are constantly being exercised. The only thing is that yours are already sore. You do not want to pull it, so if it is already sore give it a break. If you really hurt it, you'll have to put off your exercise routine for at least a week.

Definitely anytime a muscle is sore give it a rest in order for it to heal.

Abs can be exercised everyday. They are made of fibers that recover quicker from workloads, as are calf muscles. But anyway, if you're sore you may want to run through a lighter abs routine. The stretching and light exercises work out the lactic acid that is a chemical byproduct from the work out the day or tow before. The lactic acid is also the culprit for that sore, tight feeling. A little soreness and tightness is OK. If your in pain and really, really stiff, simply walk through a stretching routine to warm up the muscles and flush the lactic acid.

Yes, you can. Sit ups and push ups are good exercises to strengthen your abdominal muscles. However, if you are suffering from severe abdominal cramps, you should try to avoid straining your abdominal muscles and take a rest. :)

Hello! Abs, just like every other muscle in the body, should not be worked out every day. They need time to rest and repair themselves.

You can do it, but it is really not recommended to do so. Since your abs take the most toll with breathing, laughing and other functions, it's not really wise to over work them. Legs and cardio can be done every day.
