If someone takes a vacation day during the week, or temporarily switches days with a co-worker who works weekends, just to stay home and find out if their neighbor leaves anytime during the day for work, what would you think of this person? What would you say if they had the nerve to admit this to you? Also, this person knows the neighbor is home during the evening because they've snooped during those hours as well. I suppose the person knows just asking the neighbor "do you work" would be too upfront. Why would someone go through all the trouble of doing this?

By the way, this was just to ease their curiosity, with no other intent, except perhaps gossiping.

They have no life or social skills. And really, how is it any of their business?

This is very, very strange behaviour. Taking the day off work?! Watching someone like that is not acceptable, even if they are a neighbour. If this nosey neighbour had to leave the house, instead of just peeking out the window, to watch this person it would be considered stalking. I can't see why they would care if their neighbour has a job or not, but having a 'normal' conversation could answer this question very easily. When have you ever been offended if someone asks you 'what do you do with yourself'. Is it possible that this is all due to romantic interest? Still doesn't make it ok, but may offer some explanation as to why they are so interested. If I found out a neighbour was going out of their way to watch me in this way, I would be freaked out. If I caught them in the act I would report them.

This person needs to concentrate on more productive things. Who cares about other people and what they do? If it's not harming anyone, let them live there lives. If they want to know if the neighbor works, just start up a conversation one day and fit in "so what do you do?" Otherwise, just leave the poor neighbor alone, for goodness sake!

Ok, this questions r.e.a.l.l.y creeps me out! UGh. If your "neighbor" takes off work to "spy" on another neighbor I would consider them a stalker as well as an low-life ***. What an empty life they lead to have nothing better to do than to watch like Gladys Kravitz out the window. If this person has kids, God help those kids. The spying neighbor needs medication and psychiatric help if they are that involved in what the neighbor is doing and it is NOT normal. If I were the neighbor being spied on and found out, I would call the police and press charges for causing me not to feel safe in my environment due to their stalkerish behavior and peeping. This is, afterall, one of our amendment rights to expected privacy. Something is wrong with someone who invests all their time waiting to see if someone leaves their home. Man, how sick is that? Talk about not feeling safe in your home--I would wonder the true intention of this spying person. Someone who does this has a bigger agenda. I would say you better watch out for this sick sick sicko. They are obviously a loose cannon.

Oh sweet, if we're just gossiping, your story reminds me of a cartoon in a newspaper years ago where in the scene an office worker is peering out his tenth floor window overlooking a building site. The office worker refferring to a scaffolder on the site opposite him, says to his colleague " You know I've been watching that guy the 'whole' day, and he hasn't done a f*cken thing!" LOL
PS: Sounds like the neighbour needs a hobby, sorry, life.....

well, if you know for sure this is for no other reason except to gossip, i think it is kinda sad...i can't believe that someone is that concerned with someone else's schedule that they rearrange theirs just to find out what the other person's it...i dont know why your neighbor doesnt just ASK if they want to know so bad...sounds silly to me...

i feel there is a motive (besides gossip) here...i cant see someone going to all that trouble for nothing...maybe the snoopy neighbor thinks the other neighbor is checking snoopy's mail or something...or maybe snoopy has a crush on the other neighbor and is trying to see if anyone is coming or going...or maybe snoopy thinks that the other neighbor is having an affair...there are so many scenarios going through my head here...i just think there has to be more to this than just plain nosiness....otherwise, snoppy sounds like a stalker to me...you might wanna steer clear...good luck!

That's really pathetic. I don't get people who are nosy like that. If what the other person's doing doesn't affect you why do you have to know what they're doing? I couldn't give a rat's a-ss what my neighbors are doing. Maybe the significant other of the nosy one if having an affair and they suspect it's with the person they're spying on.
I would tell this person to their face to get a life.

Tell them the neighbor probably works from home and to look through the windows. Then call the police with an anonymous complaint about some creepy weirdo looking through people's windows.

I would think this person was a loser with nothing better to do in a scary sort of way. Does that neighbor know this? He/she should be informed that a psycho lives next door.

I feel sorry for a person that cannot think of other things to do. Are they really weird or old or what?

I think that would make me uncomfortable, I don't like the idea of having someone watching me, it's almost like a stalker.
