Yes, i think He did It's so hard to be bashed and cursed upon because what you believe. Jesus knows how we feel, He had been looked down upon and beat and put in jail for spreading the Word.

Considering how some Christians have a complete conniption if it's suggested they use "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" or that the "Easter Bunny" could be renamed, or they go up in smoke if you write about their god with a small "g," I'd say, no.. Jesus didn't provide Christians with a "thicker skin" at all. Look at the Wiccans.. they only JUST got the right to have their religious symbol engraved on the gravestones of Wiccan soldiers. Tell someone you're a Wiccan, and you might be threatened, or your cat killed. Christians in the U.S. whine about being persecuted, and this question of yours is a good example, where you say you are "mocked constantly," but you really have no idea what it is like to be a member of a minority faith, and to TRULY have the need of a thicker skin.

Well, yes and no.
He teaches us to
a) turn the other cheek
b) love everyone
c) etc
I agree with you in many ways. Here we are in a religion & sprituality QUESTION forum, and people constantly give "questions" that are really just insults or attacks in disguise. I'm about done with responding to people like that. ONe person today has made about 3 questions.. each one seems to just mock those who answered his previous questions - basically because they disagreed.
If you don't really want to hear all answers to a question, then don't ask it. If you aren't really interested in learning others opinion - ask yourself and give the answer you'd like to hear. that way you can feel like both the question and the answer were brilliant and correct.
Granted - some Christians are the same way. They feel the need to constantly be on the attack as well. They ask questions and make statements saying you are dumb/whatever if you don't believe.
In my daily life I try to "preach the gospel daily. Use words if necessary." It seems in this forum, words are necessary.
But by being a great person in real life, by being a good example and someone people admire- that is the best way to show how a TRUE Christian should act.

No I would say that Jesus gives you the ability to continue your pagan lifestyle and make a claim (however loosely) on the Jewish way of life, without following their traditions, customs, or the Law of G-d.
Then again look at most Christians. Most are over weight so I guess you do have a "thicker" skin. I will not tell anyone that it is a layer of fat.

Very interesting idea. Remember, however, that many Christians do not have such "thick skin". Many Christians get offended easily and can't seem to cope with those who don't agree with them.. or even other Christians.
However, for those who sincerely seek the Father's will... for those that are struggling for a stronger relationship with God moment by moment... there is a grace of peace. That peace, that passes all understanding, makes it appear that we have "thick skin". In reality... our "thick skin" is merely our doing what God gives us the ability to do and allowing God to handle what we cannot.

No Jesus provided you with teachings that said NOT to hate or judge, to discern from actions that cause harm and suffering and not to do such things yourself.... why don't you listen?
Altruism, the logical choice.

Jesus told us we Would be persecuted...so was He, we don't have thicker skin...just a bigger body guard.
btw...intolerance is self-defeating. One has to tolerate what one STRONGLY disagrees with. If there is no argument, there is no tolerance.
