I'd probably discuss this with her.
What things is she talking about, and why would women do them, and men not want to do them?
It would be a peek into another way of thinking.

I would be curious as heck to know how she arrived at that conclusion and when I had time, I'd seek out conversation with her. She might have some fascinating stories to tell. Or, not. I'd still be curious to learn from her experience of so many years. I know a woman in her mid-eighties I absolutely adore and admire. People of her age have lived in an amazing century and have seen us go from horse and buggy to the moon. Who else has seen so much change?

I myself go by the situation, but try my hardest to be respectful, she is after all allot older than you, and has more than likely been set in her ways for years upon years upon years. What I would do is try to see it from her point of view ... when she was younger, women did do allot of things without protest, because it was seen as a woman's job, that's the way she was raised, nowadays, you have female construction workers, and male interior decorators .... I'm sure she sees it as utterly absurd, but we would see it as a part of everyday life. Honestly, I would point out to her that times have changed, and things are done differently, and then I'd go do some outside construction work .... but that's just me.

It's not worth it. I'd just smile and change the subject.

I would just giggle and perhaps change the subject. She may be too old to change her mind.

Just let it go and now you know why she isn't married. Also learn from her opinion and situation so you hopely won't end up like her.
