Yes!!!

There are many ways to interpret the Bible, including the Creation Story. In addition, many Christians believe in evolution, and also interpret the Bible according to historical and literary criticism. There is a difference between taking the Bible "literally" and believing that the Bible is "true." In other words, you can believe that the Bible teaches eternal truths without having to take every word literally.

Honestly, you can't be a Christian and accept Evolution. The Bible clearly leaves no interpretation on this matter, and it leaves no room for Evolution. First, the Bible teaches that God created the Earth in six LITERAL days (Genesis 1). Second, the Bible teaches that Adam (the first man) was created from the dust of the Earth (Genesis 2:7), and Eve, the first woman, was made from his rib (Genesis 2:21-22). We weren't evolved from anything. Lastly, the Bible says that there was no death before Adam and Eve's sin (Romans 5:12). Therefore, nothing before that time could have died or evolved. All the creatures made before Adam and Eve were only made a day or so prior, and there was no death on the world anywhere until they committed a sin.

Yes. You can believe in evolution and still be a Christian.

Anyone wanting to put limits on who is and who isn't a Christian is not pleasing to God.

I think that those "christians" who don't believe in evolution are idiots.
They'll tell you that God is limitless... So what's so crazy about Him creating the world the way science has proven? It obviously happend or we wouldn't have fossils, dinosaur bones, etc.
God made evolution. It's as simple as that.

If the Pope can be a Christian and accept the theory of evolution I don't see why anyone else should have difficulty.

I have no knowledge on this author's background in christianity or science but on first glance it seems to be an interesting paper about this question. If nothing else it should be a good stepping stone as you begin your journey of discovering what being a christian means to you.

in order to be a christian you have to believe and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and that he came to save us and that he was raised from the dead. all christians debate on parts of the Bible but just because you dont agree with other christians doesnt make you any less of a christian. just keep following God and it'll all be good.

I agree with that person. I used to believe that you could compromise the two, but I found that both the Day/Age theory and the Gap Theory are logically and scientifically incompatible with both Scripture and science.

I know many who are - but I don't see how. Scripture is pretty clear on how God created the world, the universe and everything in it.
IMHO if you believe the bible is the word of God, you have to take it as it is, not what you think it is.

blessings :)
