Whenever we miss the mark by disobeying one of God's commands, we sin against Him. Whenever we wrong another person, we not only sin against them, but also against God. When we take a look at the enormity of God's mercy to forgive us of ALL of our transgressions, we realize that we do not have the right to withhold this grace from others. We have sinned against God infinitely more than any person can sin against us. If God forgives us of so much, how can we refuse to forgive others for so little? Jesus’ parable in Matthew 18:23-35 is a powerful illustration of this truth. God promises that when we come to Him asking for forgiveness, He freely grants it (1 John 1:9). The forgiveness we extend should know no bounds, in the same way that God's forgiveness is limitless (Luke 17:3-4).

I know what you mean, if I weren't a Christian myself, I would be put off by some of the things I see, such as people in the street shouting the Gospel at passers by; they mean well, and I admire their courage, but I think it does more harm than good. There are ways and means of getting the message across, and different people respond differently to the same thing. Most of us do endeavour to do right, but we are human and make mistakes - we are works in progress, not the finished articles. A wayside pulpit round the corner from where I live says "Christianity is a journey, not a destination". Becoming a Christian does not mean you have arrived. The maxim here is to follow Christ.

funny but be sincere at least. Nobody's perfect but Jesus did a darn good job of forgiving every one from the regulating pharisees to the possessed prostitutes. However since not everyone is perfect God is not going to wait on it's own creation to bring his kingdom to earth...

A similar question was asked of Jesus. He said"If asked forgiveness, you must forgive your brother's trespass up to 77 times." Of course this number isn't to be taken literally, but does mean if asked, we must forgive as often as requested.

Justice is not revenge, all crimes demand justice,it is the weak concept of immaturity that demands others to turn a blind eye to their repeated wrong doing.

You're right!!! If someone cursed on you, don't cursed him/her back, pray for her/him instead... if someone did something wrong to you... forgive! the way God is doing, He forgives our sins... (time also takes place)... If someone threw stone unto you, throw him back with a bread...

i think there is forgiveness but people miss interpret things from the bible and use them to their advantage. they try and justify what they are doing by comparing to something already done. i think it is just the society of today.

If you have read any of The Bible at all, you wouldn't need to ask this question. You want a copy?
