I'd say 2000 CHF/month
Obviously depends on size and location, plus how well-kept the building is. So I went with average-size (4 1/2 rooms, which means 3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, one or two bathrooms) average location (Hottigen and Seefeld would be more).

Zürich-City itself is very expensive and affordable flats even hardly come on the market. Starting at Sfr. 2'000.-- (nothing luxe) and then very quick up. On top a foreigner, sorry will hardly get a chance to get an affordable one since the waiting list by swiss are too long.
