does anyone have a story about how one of your parents volunteered you sevices without you knowing when you were a teenager?

Parents do it all the time. They volunteer you to babysit, mow people's lawns, help them move things, etc. Since you live in their home, they feed and clothe you, take you to the doctor, etc., I guess they think that can count on you to do somethings for others.

All the time! My favorite is when I didn't know I was suppose to be baby-sitting, made plans with friends. My parents got ahold of me and told me I was late. "Late for what?"
There were so many instances where they did. I could tell you stories for hours. I am now married with my own kids and still get phone calls...I told so and so you would be be there.
No matter what I have said, even refused many times, they still pull this with me. So irritating!!!

When I was 15 my estranged mother volunteered me to marry a Persian man who needed residency papers to be a US citizen. She went so far as to meet his family in the US, accept a plane ticket to Italy in my name and a cash advance of $8000, with the remainding $7000 to be paid to her when the man received his US immigration papers.
Needless to say, I ran from the "opportunity".

Yeah one time my parents volunteered me to rake the neighborhood yards. I did such a bad job and they never volunteered me again. My social life was more important than raking.

my mom never did but, i used to make my boys mow my neighbors lawn. she was alone and couldn't use the lawnmower. besides, she used to bring them candy and stuff for no reason. the least they could do was help her out.

my dad volunteers for my to babysit for FREE all the time!!! it drives me insane!!!!!!!!!
