Actually, I think it can. The reason is because drinks that like stimulate the metabolism, and probably irritate your stomach.
I can only speak for Red Bull which I drink a lot, and I've noticed that problem with it. Look at the ingredients on that thing, man. It kind of makes you feel creeped out, but hey, they haven't found anything that serious about it expect that it's definitely not good before strenous exercise.

I think it probably could, the caffiene is a natural duiretic plus, whatever else is in that stuff will give you "gut rot"... I'm quite sure!
