I have checked out the websites, but would like personal recipes that you use with your kids. Easy please, for 8 and 11 year old beginner cooks.

Any and everything from cutting to placing stuff in the oven. Cookies / stirring / measuring / pour and mixing ingredients...my 4 year old loves to cook and also watch Rachael Ray (especially during holidays as the cooking channel always has yummy things to make)

My mom started me out with tacos (she did the meat) and Tollhouse cookies so I could measure and stir. She even let me do a pot roast about that age, 11. It's just tossing everything in a pot and she put it in the oven, and then reminded me when to put the tapioca in.

She normally didn't like me in the kitchen, she said I made a mess. Well I was a kid! But I do remember learning from her.

I always let my son help with stirring, measuring, etc. When he was younger, anything that didn't involve dealing with the stove or a knife.

Packaged cupcakes (you know - where you make them from a cake mix) are a good start. So are cookies, fruit pies, mashed potatoes, pressing hamburger patties, just about anything that has processing steps to it.

bread or anything which uses dough that has to be kneaded then it doesnt matter what the kids do to it
Then when you are waiting for the dough to rise make some shortbread cos thats someting else thats easy and wont go wrong with too much handling
