If you go to a pet store they will show you pellets you can buy for your game. They like grass, but I don't think fruit is good for them. My sister gives her birds lettuce and they like it, but I'm not sure how the chicken would do with it. Chickens eat feed, which can be found in a 'country feed store' or 'hay barn' (that's what they are usually called.) But the ducks and geese can get their food from Petsmart most of the time.

In my experience -good- breeders use certain foods in their contracts because through years of trial and error with their own lines, theyve found that it works best. I think the way my breeder went about things is a good balance. He breeds Bernese Mountain Dogs, and as with any large breed the most crucial time for high quality food is when they are growing. He has it in is contracts to feed is preferred food until the dogs are 18 months old. He does this for 2 reasons: a) He wants the dogs on a high quality, large breed safe diet so that they don't grow too fast causing bone deformities b) Because it is a high quality, organic/human grade food the dogs do really well on it. By the time the dogs are 18 months old and the owners see how well their dog is doing on it, they likely wont change it to something of lesser quality Also, if there are things like allergies or other special cases, the food may be changed, and will not nullify the contract if approved by a vet. Also, after 18 months the food may be changed to whatever the owner wants, but a list of 10 preferred foods are provided (not demanded) in the puppy package to help guide people away from things like ol roy/pedigree/kibbles and bits/science diets ADD: To ensure compliance, the breeder sets up automatic delivery through the food company. They keep track of the dog's age and weight, do a proper feeding guide (input from the owners is welcomed as well) and then they do the math as to how long a bag will last. Then the food is shipped automatically.

They can eat tomatoes, but I couldn't find any "ok's" on other types of fruit.

Bread, Popcorn, and Chips are "Junkfood" for ducks.
The easiest and healthiest thing for people to feed them with is cracked corn. Cracked corn is easier for the ducks to digest than whole corn. You can also feed "chicken scratch" from the feed store.

By the way, Ducks don't really swallow their food, they use water to help them wash down the food and clean the vents on their beak.

Ducks can also be fed chopped hard-boiled eggs (seems weird, but its a good source of protein) and tomatoes (chopped in medium slices)

Generally they like to eat bread, (any bread is fine) like they do when you go to feed wild ducks etc. I would say that a bit of fruit or "human fruit" in their diet is good as it will give them some of the nutrients that they need. Also, ducks eat small fish so feed them very small amounts of tuna or something like that, as a treat.

(they may refuse to eat some fruit as it will be hard to chew as they have no teeth so feed them small segments at a time)

Hope i helped

The best thing is not to feed wild ducks! If you are going to feed them, it is best to stay away from bread which clogs their crops. Small amounts of fruit is ok, so is corn and some seeds and peanuts (without shells)

What is "human fruit"? Farm birds eat mainly corn and mixed meal, bought from the feed store specifically for that purpose.. If they are allowed to roam, they eat grass, seeds and bugs. They can eat fruit and other vegetables as well, but it should not be a large part of their diet. Geese are grazers, and they eat grass too.

Depending on where you live of course: do you have a feed mill near? They usually carry feed for ducks, chickens etc. If you don't...check with your local vet he/she can tell you. Small amounts of fruit should not harm them. But I wouldn't over feed the fruit.

Ducks mostly eat weed that is under water, bread seeds, grasses, and plants. Chickens eat grains, some left over veggies, and some types of bugs. Geese eat seeds, various water plants, and turnips.

Depends what fruit you are thinking of giving them. I would steer clear of anything citrus, suggest it is safer just to stick to the usual layers pellets or mixed corn. Vegables would be a better idea, mine love any root vegable and grass
