Evolutionists think, I suppose, that those that happened to be born with 5 toes on each foot survived better than those that were born with 6 or seven or perhaps three. But why did toes at all come into existence? Well, many think it was just by chance, but I'm not religious enough to be able to believe that, so I think it must have come from some intelligent designer, and he thought, or rather knew, that five would be the best.

Because they would look pretty silly with all 10 toes on the same foot or sticking out willy-nilly from the sides of our heads.

In reality, it seems that the number 5 has some evolutionary advantage among primates over 2, 3, 4, or 6. If you want to have some more detailed explanation, visit http://talkorigins.org .

Because that is what enables us t owalk and run the way we do. If we had say, 3 on each foot, but the same kind of feet and bodies, we would not be able to walk properly or run.

But if some one was to lose one or two toes, i dont think it would make a very big difference.

They were meant to be used as fingers when man first evolved from the Apes. Five of those on each limb seemed the right number needed or you would have had more of them today.
