If there were some sort of cutoff age for getting a free ticket to Heaven, then wouldn't it be an act of mercy to kill a baby before he/she reaches this age and thus guarantee their salvation?

As a Bible believer, not a Papaist,I believe God did not hold people responsible until age 20.As he did with the children of the Exodus. Now the church wouldn't like that because it allows too much freedom. They need warm buns in the seats therefore they say when a child is able to understand right from wrong. It is at least13 the day of the Bar Mitzvah.

It's not a specific age. If a child knows that he has done wrong and rejects God anyway, yes, he will go to hell. But if a child is too young to understand the concept of sin / wrongdoing, then he will not be held accountable. It all has to do with the child's level of understanding.

there is no set age, it is when the person is old enough to know right from wrong and make their own choice whether or not they will serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
