hmmmmm
i guess not, really
i suppose its like when you fall asleep
you are aware of falling asleep (or starting to, anyway), but you aren't aware of actually being asleep, until you wake up and realise that you were
so, when you die, i guess, no, you won't actually be aware of being dead, until you wake up (so, if you belive in a Heaven or Hell, i guess you would be aware that you are dead then), although you may have been aware of dying
v.interesting question
got me thinking!

Back to dust.
Conciousness is a function of something
that also dies the brain.
I do believe our souls will leave.
I was listening to coast to coast one night
and this scientist wieghed a body before and after a death and it was reported
lighter after death.
So maybe it does leave.
I remember this nurse telling me one time
that every person she saw die there was
someone the victim saw helping them pass
on although she couldnt see them.
She also said that the ones that didnt make it, it was a violent death, and the ones that did was a peaceful one.

Ohh Mr K ..... what a question ... you really have got me thinking about this one and how to answer ..really is a matter of if you believe in life after death ... my partner passed away last year and I was with him right to the end ...now people always say that he will always be with me which gives me comfort and I know in my heart he always will be ... but as to if he actually knows he is dead I would hate to think that he does because he would be able to see how much pain I am in and be upset ...... oh must have a word with Mrs K about you.... was the grim reaper yesterday ....think those tablets need adjusting ha ha ...x

Christians who die are asleep the Bible teaches they are aware of nothing.
unbelievers who have died without Christ are held in a prison of torment until the day of Judgment.

No, because they are dead.
It's true to say you don't experience your own death.
