The school won't care at all. THe only problem your so may have is smelly feet (All depends on how the sneaker is made) from not wearing any socks. When I went to school, I mostly wore my sneakers without socks, and the school did not care. The only way it is going to be a problem is if the school has a dress code, and you have to wear socks in your shoes. Most priviate schools has a strict dress code.
In my school days, especially in Jr. High (They had grades 7 though 9) 75% of the students (both boys and girls) wore their sneakers without socks, because it was a big fad. And later on, I would see younger kids (as young as 8) wear sneakers without socks. THe fad died off like in the mid 90s, and now it is coming back, because now and then, I see young kids wearing (between ages 6 and 10) wear their sneakers without socks. In fact about 3 weeks ago or so, I seen a few little kids wearing their sneakers without socks.
Try to buy another pair of sneakers so you can rotate your son's sneakers. THat way they will air out completely and they won't get ruined so quickly. For an example: IF he wears a white pair of Nikes to school tomorrow with no socks, let them air out for at least 48 hours before he wears them again, and on Friday, have him wear a Navy pair of New Balance. THat way the sneaker can last longer. I also recommend that you buy some foot odor spray to kill the odor. Try to buy sneakers that are strictly made to be worn without socks.
ANother thing you can try is have you son wear sandals to school if school allows sandals if the weather is warm.

Not all schools have the same policy so your best bet would be to call the school and find out what their position on the question is. The only problem with not wearing socks otherwise is that the shoes will become very stinky. People try and put their shoes in the washer to fix the problem but it only works for a day or so, then it gets worse. Try getting your son some sandals.

I NEVER Wore Socks... I Still To This Day Will Only Wear Them In The Winter... My School Didn't Care... I Don't Think They'll Say Anything As Long As He's Not Wearing Shorts And A T-Shirt In The Middle Of Winter!!!

If the school has a problem with your son's decision, they will let you know.
The real question here is why doesn't your son want to wear socks? Are his shoes to small? Is it possible that his feet get very hot during the day.
Or there could be another explaination. Perhaps you should purchase a new pair of shoes for him, or maybe sandals.
You should encourage him to wear his socks to school though, in my opinion. His feet and shoes probably smell really bad. I doubt his classmates appreciate it!

Unless the school has a dress code that requires socks, there should be no reason for your son not to wear them. Go to the foot section at your pharmacy and get some deodorant to spray into his sneakers. That will help his feet to stay dry, and to avoid really nasty foot odor.

The best way to decide that is check if his shoes are damp when he gets home from school (or you get home from work) as this would tell you whether or not he should go sockless. Unless you want him to walk around with smelly shoes, or to buy new shoes every 1-2 months, then you'll suggest he wears socks. If they're dry when you check, he might not have sweaty feet. Then there are no good reasons to stop him.

The school doesn't care, but I would be concerned with his health. Wearing no socks in sneakers can cause them to smell, develop bacteria, and possibly get into his skin. Wearing socks prevents sweat from fully getting into the shoe and prevents suff from getting into any open wounds casing infection.

The school won't care unless they have a written policy about wearing socks or hosiery with shoes.
The only thing I would worry about is that his sneakers will be very stinky! Make sure he washes his feet daily to avoid athlete's foot, but otherwise just let him go.

Bad for his feet and for his shoes. The school doesn't care unless there is a written dress code.
A parent to 2 teenage boys informed me that ultra-low-cut socks are the current trend. You usually can't see the socks. Is he trying to follow the trend? Buy him a couple pairs and see if he'll wear them!

I am kinda a hippie. I don't do socks unless it is -30 out in winter. My daughter has picked up on this and rarely wears socks. People comment on it and see it as neglectful, lol (silly because she has a drawer full). She wears them with rubber boots (I make her because she can get blisters from the motion of her heel rubbing up and down up and down with every step). She now has planters warts so I am making her wear socks. Sometimes she gets cold and I'll just say 'You should have put on socks' but she is seven and dresses herself so I don't think that I should MAKE her because people look at me weird.
