Look, they have been up all night, hanging around, bothering the lady moths ("Hey, that nectar is on me, babe."), flittering around street corner lamps, showing how tough they are.
When else can they sleep?

Most moths are nocturnal, they navigate by the light of the moon.
They are attracted to lights because they mistake the lights for the moon.
By the way this is not the section for that question.

The sun gives off a different light source than lightbulbs. They sleep during the day, because there are more birds than bats.

Why is this in R&S? Moths use the sun's positio to navigate. An artificial light source moves differently and confuses them, they aren't actually attracted to it. Some species of moth are nocturnal and some are diurnal.

because of fact sunlight hours isn't a marvelous mild source. there is mild all around in sunlight hours yet not something which stands proud. a mild source at evening stands proud and attracts them as a source of warmth to acquire. In sunlight hours they have that all and sundry around.

how do you know they sleep? maybe they are around somewhere. At night we can see them because they hover around a single light. just as we can see the glow of fire-flies at night only.
