I saw in an earlier answer someone say God DOES have emotions like us (hence the creating man in its image stuff)

If God does then how does it get its rocks off? Cos if God feels emotions the same as us, God must feel sexual emotions surely. But if God doesn't have a gender it couldn't have sexual emotions for another genderless deity because that would make God homosexual. And surely God wouldn't force itself upon someone.

Im confused......does God have no emotions, all emotions, or just some?

Bats fin - Sexual desire is an emotion just the same as happiness is an emotion.

Ray - i'm no doctor but I believe joy and sadness are emotions that are controlled by biological factors. Isn't that why depression can be treated medically?

He does have emotions. All emotions don't revolve around sex though. Sex is more about our bodies than our souls and yes it can be used to express love but we know by the rapes reported and child sexual abuse it can be perverted. He dwells in us so I guess when we do it He does too. He even compares His love for us to the love spouses have with one another and uses sexual imagery too. Still I doubt He is the horn dog you are trying to make Him be. But you are right that sex is good just not when we pervert it.

You're confusing emotions with desire. People have sexual desire, not sexual emotions. The emotion derived from sex is generally love. Obviously some people have sex without any emotional tie, and that is purely a physical act, nothing else.

I would assume that if God has emotions, in a way we can understand, then it would just be love. But if God were to have any other type of emotion that we could understand, then I would assume that hate would not be one of them, but sorrow could be.

I don't think I would use the term "confused" to describe you. Even if you don't believe in God, or perhaps did at one time and lost your faith, this is no reason to be disrespectful. Using such terms as "get its rocks off" is disrespectful. Having said that . . .

Yes, God feels emotions. He experiences anger, love, affection, pain, sadness. He also laughs and smiles. He does not, however, feel anything sexual.

He probably does, however, feel embarrassed - not for himself, but for you and those other humans like you who insist upon being vulgar and disrespectful despite the absolute absence of any reason for doing so.

God does have emotions like anger, sad, disappointment, laughter, smile, satisfied etc... But He will never be carried over by it. In other words He has control over it. He doesn't get angry and go on a riot or He doesn't get so sad that He gets alone to Himself.... We human beings are carried over by emotions. He is not rocked by emotions...

I guess you are confusing between emotions and sex. Sex is not an emotion, but it involves emotions. Sex is a gift from God to enjoy and recreate. God does not have sex. It is a gift that he gave us remember? Eventhough sex in itself is beautiful and great, it is very complex to explain. God could have easily created another way for man to achieve the same level of joy other than sex, but He has tied down the reproduction and enjoyment together in sex. It has a complex meaning in it that God likes the people whom He created and He wants to see more of them so He gave them pretty much an incentive to recreate...

Please don't confuse sex with emotions. Sex is not emotion. It may involve emotions. But sex itself is not an emotion.

we were made in gods image,
but alas not with the same brain power.
god has many emotions, some that mankind have never experienced.
why?
coz we are all imperfect & god is perfect.

god denounces gay union as an abomination, the bible is quite clear about it.
he does not accept what is against his (Gods) plan 4 Mankind.
that's what the Bible says & i'm just repeating it.
my view is as i am of balanced mind, i will get along with everybody, regardless of sex, race or religion.
it is 4 God 2 Judge Mankind,
not me.

just like the bible, the believers will pick and choose the emotions which suit the situation

and yes, god does have emotions, because god said he is a jealous god - jealousy is an emotion. but then again, they say it's not the same kind of jealousy we humans have. so even if they say he has a certain emotion, doesn't mean it means the same as when we have it.

ya, that makes sense

i didn't think you'd get any real answers on this one. maybe if you reworded your question so it isn't quite so offensive to believers they might answer. of course it would still be like my above answer lol

He [currently] has all the emotions not generated by biological constants. So does He have "desire"? no. no hormones. He does however have anger, sadness, gladness, hope, joy, calmness..... all those emotions we have that are not driven by our humanity. He did about 2000 years ago, but His soul is free from that now.

In the first spiritual stories told many thousands of years ago, God is referred to, in the same breath, as being male and/or female. There was no distinction. Since the true concept of God is, by its very definition, beyond our comprehension of anything we know in the physical world, it is wrong to refer to God as male or female - God is GOD. Gender is used for reference. I am speaking purely in terms of the definition of God, not in terms of people's attempts to humanise God so that they can more easily refer to God. God should be referred to as God not, He, She or anything other than God. It's like referring to your car as male or female - those terms do not apply. As far as emotions, people are simply trying to understand God in their own terms. Of course we don't know if God has emotions like we do - that's ridiculous. God is beyond any true human understanding - we can only see the affect of his shadow on our world from His dimension. To say God has emotions is extremely presumptuous and cannot be qualified. QED.

God doesn't have or will ever have need for "rocks", and there are no other gods for God to force Himself upon.

Emotions don't come out of someone's junk, believe it or not.

EDIT: Yes, and God doesn't have any sexual desire. What's your point?

Yes i can honestly imagine God rocking around on one of his clouds, pair of headphones on listening to Limp Bizkit, struting his funky stuff. Its thoughts like that that keep going!

although i think the correct answer is "god is love, god is life, god is everything, we must pray forever" or some shiit like that
