Yes there were clicks or groups in my school like that except it was the prepes, the smarties, losers and just the others that didn't really have names.

I fully agree that there are cliques in schools. Everybody has their own group of friends that they hang with. I know I sure did. Mine were mostly the special ed kids and some outsiders, as well. Mainly the people that didn't fit in the prep group or the jocks group or the honor roll student group. Sometimes it's good to know where you stand on the "food chain" though.

You are seeing the truth. School is brutal and folk band together to survive. You make allegiences and work out your position in the statis level of your group and the status level of the group you are in amoung all the other groups.
This is an important function of school.
You appear to be more perceptive than your peers.
Always remember, life is not fair and nowhere is there any gurantees that it is or should be.
Deal with life and compete. Find out your wants and needs and work for them.

Just imagine what group you would evntually join if you knew that the word is "clique" not "click?" Why you might eventually join the ranks of the employed.
p.s. Of course you are right. All schools have cliques. So don't workplaces for that matter.

They don't rule anything, they can have their 15 minutes of fame because when they are out of school anything they did no one will remember. Yes there are "clicks" usually those who share the same interests or same lifestyle hang together because of that connection. Some are seen as more important because of school activities and some are seen as loosers because the lack thereof.

There's no question that there are clicks in school, I'm sure everyone would agree. However, at my school it was clearly the jocks that ruled the school.

It is a lower school ( high school ) thing ,
It is obsolete by the time you go to college .
And at the class reunions , many of the pops turn out to be giant loooosers .
Don't sweat it , ace your classes and get a scholarship to a good college .

No, there are cliques in real life too although they are known as clubs or organizations. Any elite group that requires membership is a clique.
