There are really only two things you can do to dissipate the energy.

First is slow the decent, wind resistance is key anything that redirects energy from vertical acceleration. try a drag chute or a rotor.

Second dissipate the energy of impact. Think about crush zones, like cars have, that will dissipate the energy sacrificing the package to protect the cargo. You can also build a sling that has elastic qualities which will allow the egg to spread the resulting forces over time rather than all at once.

You need materials that will absorb energy gradually, or limit the amount of momentum the egg develops in the first place. Can you use a parachute? What else besides packaging material would cushion the egg?

Bubble wrap works best, but you said no packaging materials. Stick the egg in a small jar of peanut butter. The jar will break and the egg will be covered in peanut butter, but it will not crack.
