different trim levels, zetec was a name for an engine until 2000 odd when it got changed to duratec.

zetec is now a mild sports trim, as the answer above says.

"ghia" is an italian style house which has styled fords for years, a ghia model is usually the "class" model of the range, you get all the options, leather seats, air con etc
and like every other ford with a ghia badge your gonna get some wood trim!!!!

ghia badge will be more expensive than the zetec.

its like this:
---- (standard)
lx (near bog standard)
zetec (mild sport)
ghia (classy)
ST (sports)

whoever said its differnet engines is dumb.

The engines are generally the same - with a number of different engine options for both Zetec and Ghia. However there may be one or two engines that are available in one version, but not the other (e.g. in the original Focus the 130bhp 2.0-litre petrol was only available in a Zetec).

Its the equipment level and interior trim that are the main differences (although there are some changes to the exterior trim too).

The Zetec is a mid-range model with sporty overtones (black and matt-silver trim)
The Ghia has more equipment, and a more luxury-type trim with wood-look on the inside and chrome on the outside.

The Zetec differs in that it has stiffened shocks and suspension, for greater handling. It's basically a more sporty version. Ghia has all the usual refinements and extras and different interior styling. If you like safe and steady, get the ghia, if you want something a bit more sporty, get the Zetec. All the engines are basically the same. A C-Max is a small people carrier version of the focus. It has a higher ride height and is more roomy. Get this is you have a family. Hope this helps.

The LX is the most basic and the Ghia the highest spec. The Zetec falls between the two, but is a sportier specification than either the LX or the Ghia. £2000 is a bit on the expensive side, unless is it is in excellent condition and with MOT and a warranty. If it is not, or is a private sale, I think you could try knocking the price down a bit.

Thats pretty good, depending on what condition its in! I think zetec is the best model with more 'extras'. Look on the ford website to check because they still use the same LX, Ghia, Zetec names on their new cars.

Ghia is the fitment level of accessories. The engines are all the same.

Simple example Ghia could have say aircon as standard, where on all other models it could be an extra.
