Seems as if the politician is misinformed or has decided to use cancer and abortion as political platform.
Here are the facts as has been determined by documented evidence. Understand that there is not definitive evidence because of the nature of the studies. It is usually women who already have breast cancer that may report they have had an abortion leading some to conclude that there is a connection. However, healthy women who never get breast cancer but who have had an abortion are never factored into the 'evidence'.
Here is some documentation and studies from the Amercian Cancer Society. Please note that there are three types of abortion: Spontaneous abortion; Stillbirth; and Induced Abortion. All three have been studied. "At the present time, the scientific evidence does not support a causal association between induced abortion and breast cancer."

Well, guilt for one thing. Let us start with the fact that abortions are not healthy for the pregnant girl, and it means death for the child , conceived. It is often said that by not breast feeding the Infant the Mother gets breast cancer. I do not know where the proof or evidence is for such statements, however it does make sense that the natural course would be best to follow in each case. However we all know that it often is not, because of some disagreement about the issue. I am Pro Life for just these reasons. The same answer is still valid. Simply get married before having any marital relations, and it is profoundly simple. God bless you.

There is strong evidence that breastfeeding, particularly earlier in adulthood, has a preventative effect on breast cancer. If you abort, obviously you're not going to be breastfeeding.
By the same argument, unprotected underage sex can be connected to a LOWERED risk of breast cancer, because teenagers who have sex are more likely to give birth and then breastfeed.
Oddly enough, the anti-abortion lobby isn't encouraging 17-year olds to have unprotected sex.
(I'm anti-propaganda).

Frankly, that sounds a bit fishy.
But there are even more stretched connections that turn out to be true, like babies who watch television develop autism, because of their inability to connect the moving images to sound, screws up their developing brains.

With regard to your question, it is not proven, but as it states at the beginning of the article for which I add an extremely long link, “there is an ominous relationship”. I fail to see what my attitude to abortion has to do with this answer. It has no relation to the question.
