now i trying to become an police officer i did law enforcement while i was in the millitary and my problem is i got a dwi while i was in and now im wondering if i can become an police officer. it was the only thing ive ever di dwrong i have a good conduct medal and good charector statements from all my comanding officers it has been three years since that happen and now i have a whole new life i have 2 children and a wife. do you think they will hire me?

I don't thing you honorable discharge will tell them what happen unless they can get you records but I think the will check all thing before tell you yes or no!!

Any discharge, other than, expiration of term of service, can come back to haunt you.

I'd check and see if such a discharge applies state-wide, or . if it's up to the individual police dept. If if applies state-wide, then I'm afraid you'll have to come up with another plan.

It will put you in a pool below those that do not have DUIs but is not an automatic stopper. You will have a hard time until a very long time passes.

I'm note sure, but keep in mind that each district hires officers differently. (I'm from Boston and the process is different from the suburbs) So, if it affects you in one area, apply in another area.
