In my religion, we drink wine every Seder Eve during the Passover to remind of the joy that the Hebrews experienced when they were released from Egypt. If there is a purpose I don't think that it's wrong. On the other hand, we never drink enough to get drunk. It's only a small cup, or few sips. Once in a while, we'll drink a few sips of wine or champagne on the Sabbath during the Sabbath dinner. That's because usually people will bring out wine or champagne only on special occasions as a symbolism of joy and special times in life. The Sabbath is a very special holiday to us although it's every week. So, we don't drink just to drink nor do we drink until we are drunk...

Whoa! Hold on there! Just drinking wine or other alcohol doesn't cause all these bad effects...ABUSING alcohol on the other hand can lead to a big mess, moderation is the key. Actually, drinking a (that's one) glass of red wine daily is very good for you. It will only lead to you doing stupid things if YOU can't control yourself.
Yes. My religion allows me to partake in wine and other spirits. Yes, I think it's OK that my religion allows me to drink wine, Why? Because I take responsibility for my own actions, do you?

A drink of Wine is not the sin...it is what you do after you drink too much wine, beer, rum, whatever...
As for me I choose not to drink any alcohol due to the temptation to drink more and more and believe me I know what I was before Jesus came into my life...
Because I know it would be a temptation to me then for me to drink wine "would be a sin" Romans 14 & 15

Yes. We serve wine at Communion, and there is often wine served at church fundraisers and other functions. There is no prohibition on alcoholic beverages in my church (although, of course, drunkenness is discouraged). I have no problem with grown adults drinking alcohol, especially wine. Despite what you've said, there's been plenty of research suggesting that, in fact, wine is good for you. Also, I come from a culture in which wine is regularly consumed at meals, even by younger people.

Yes, my religion allows me to drink wine...but not to excess. Getting drunk is a sin.
But you are wrong about the benefits of alcohol...there have been many studies that tell us wine has wonderufl health benefits.
Anything to excess can be bad for you but in moderation there is nothing wrong with some wine from time to time.

Christianity allows the consumption of alcohol. However we are warned repeatedly of its dangers.
Remember Jesus' first miracle was to turn water into wine and give it to a bunch of drunks. Jesus was sinless.
Wine is okay. Now, some Christian denominations (ie Baptist) decided that they would not use alcohol. It is okay to take a vow of abstention. It is not okay to condemn those who do not. Consumption of wine is not a sin, never was, and never will be. However-you can make it a sin.

No it is not ok to drink wine thats just people excuse to drink. So they always bring up the miracle Jesus perform with the water into wine.
1 Timothy 5:23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.
It is remarkable that so many people who know nothing else in the Bible seem quite familiar with this verse, using it as their favorite Biblical justification for drinking intoxicating beverages.

I didn't abuse wine. Wine abused me. I told it I was going to call the police, but it wouldn't listen. Then, I threatened to tell my wife, but her and the wine had a conspiracy going against me. Finally, I got put on the wineless protection list and now it can't find me.

Wine is a gift of God. We should not call evil what God, in Scripture, has declared to be good.
Also...because Jesus' first miracle was to make wine for a wedding.
Also:
Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart (Ecclesiastes 9:7).
He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and vegetation for the service of man, that he may bring forth food from the earth. And wine that makes glad the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread which strengthens man's heart (Psalm 104:14, 15).
And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the Lord your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household (Deuteronomy 14:26).
I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; they shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them" (Amos 9:14).
Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price (Isaiah 55:1).
How fair is your love, my sister, my spouse! How much better than wine is your love, and the scent of your perfumes (Song of Solomon 4:10).

interior the initiating replaced into the be conscious, and the be conscious replaced into made flesh. that's the be attentive to life that He refers to eating, eating, and holding ones life, not cannibalism. there's a instruction manual in that series of scripture (John 6:40 9-sixty six) that Jesus pronounced those words in particular to offend people who have been following interior the flesh, and not the spirit. yet He concluded with the words below, which basically proves you will interpret the be conscious interior the flesh, wherein case you will come to a silly end, or you will interpret them rightfully interior the spirit. that's the Spirit who provides life; the flesh earnings not something. The words that I talk to you're spirit, and that they are life
