What is your opinion on those who follow organised religions?

In my experience, those I have met hold views which really aren't in the vein of 'love thy neighbour'. Many persecute those who different to them either through race, sexual orientation or, beliefs.

In my opinion, if people stopped practising their religious beliefs and just concentrated on respecting fellow man then the world would be a mush happier place.

Some are, but there are still people without religion that are radical and dangerous to society. Just ask the nepalese people about their treatment at the hands of Atheistic Chinese.

In reality people use religion as an excuse to do tremendously bad things, but it would require more than the eradication of religion to stop violence and hate. Violence and hate are a part of nature.

Oh I see. so we should take God and push him aside and put respect of man and their ways in his place.

A happier perversion is not for me.

It is better to offer mercy, than judgment.

If someone knows the position a Christian has, and the answer is what God's position on the topic is, Does that answer become persecution?

I agree many do have a personal ax to grind as a believer or a person who despises believers.

I wait on the Lord for his judgment of me and not man. A thick skin is definitely need today in society from either side.

It is very unfortuante that those who make the biggest impact statements about what they supposedly believe are also the last people who should. Those that use their "religion" as a way to place themselves above others are not following the basic beliefs they claim to uphold. This is true of all the religions. I am a proud Christian, but the face of any other religion, as well as mine, is that of hypocrisy, violence, bigotry, racism, and hatred. Your last statement is somewhat true. If we stop being religious and start following what we claim we believe in purity and truth, we will see a true difference.

NO, WE'RE NOT HATEFUL. IF YOU MEET SOMEONE, AND THEY ARE HATEFUL, CRUEL, OR JUST JUDGMENTAL, THEN YOU HAVEN'T MET A CHRISTIAN YOU HAVE MET AN EVIL PERSON. I DON'T JUDGE ANYONE. WE'RE SUPPOSED TO LET GOD DO THAT. IF YOU'RE LIVING A CERTAIN WAY THAT THE BIBLE SAYS YOU SHOULDN'T, I DON'T HATE YOU FOR THAT. AS A MATTER OF FACT, MY HEART SOFTENS, AND I WILL PRAY FOR FOR YOU BECAUSE I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO GO TO HELL. SEE THAT'S HOW A CHRISTIAN SUPPOSED TO ACT. GOD TELLS US THAT LOVE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FRUIT THERE IS. HE ALSO TELLS US TO LOVE OUR ENEMIES THAT MEANS LOVE EVERYONE BECAUSE WE'RE ALL GOD'S CHILDREN. WE'RE NO BETTER THAN THE SINNER IN GOD'S EYES; WE'RE ALL HIS CHILDREN. NOW, THAT DOESN'T MEAN LIVE WITH THE SINNER OR CONDONE WHAT THE SINNER DOES. WE DO HAVE TO KEEP A CERTAIN KIND OF DISTANCE BECAUSE THERE ARE THINGS WE CAN DO AND WE JUST CAN'T DO, BUT HATE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. GOD DIDN'T TELL US TO PUNISH THE SINNER; HE WANTS US TO DO WHATEVER WE CAN DO TO HELP THAT SINNER. I DON'T CRITICIZE, POINT A FINGER, OR FIND FAULT IN NO ONE BECAUSE ALL OF US HAVE SINNED IN SOME TYPE OF WAY IF IT'S PRIVATELY OR PUBLICLY. THEREFORE, WHEN THE SINNER BECOMES A CHRISTIAN, HE HAS NO PLACE TO JUDGE ANYONE ELSE BACAUSE HE IS NOT ABOVE THAT SINNER, AND GOD CAN SNATCH HIM DOWN OFF OF HIS HIGH HORSE AND GIVE HIM A REALITY CHECK. SO THE ONES THAT HAVE BEEN HATEFUL OR ANYTHING ELSE ARE NOT CHRISTIANS. I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY SAY THEY ARE OR HOW MUCH THEY GO TO CHURCH. THEY ARE EVIL PEOPLE, AND THEY ARE MAKING THE REAL CHRISTIANS LOOK BAD.

I see more Intolerance in "Relgious" people than the average person. What I mean by religious is the people who go to worship every Sabath, Bible studies or the equivelant.

They believe they have all the answers and know God's plans for man. You cannot find or enter Kingdom of Heaven unless you are one of us. Then they judge you because you do not meet their expectations of "what one of us is".

There are only two religions in the world that view they are the only answer and path to God, Islam and Christianity.

Why is it that the old testement talks of a tower of Babel and God scattering humans worldwide with different tongues so they could not argue, yet these two religions cannot believe that God gave each of these scattered people their own name and worship of him.

Seems to me, if we allowed people to seek God on their own path and remember what Ghandi said, "all roads lead to God', we would be better off in this world of ours.

I agree that those who are under the bondage of legalism and religious self-righteousness are the most oppressive people there are.
It was the religious leaders that had Jesus crucified.
However those who have been born of the Spirit and walk in faith and love, trusting in the grace of God are the only ones on earth suited to inherit heaven.
Jesus said:
"For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 5:20

If they actually practiced their religions beliefs, you would be in awe of the people they were. The problem is they are human and so fail to do so, and with so many humans trying, there are many blunders. You are human, have you never made a mistake? Then what right have you to say THEY are the cause of the worlds problems if people like you make mistakes just like they?

No, I find that people are people. Some in organized religions can be just as cruel and mean-spirited as non-believers. Unfortunately, being mean is an equal opportunity trait.
