I am making some frosting for some cupcakes and i do not have any vanilla extract. is there anything else i could use or can i leave it out. I am making a buttercream icing and all of the recipes i have found have vanilla extract in them.
Thanks
Ashley

You can add any type of flavouring such as almond, peppermint.banana etc.Whichever flavouring you like or have on hand.
Flavourings just give it an extra boost.

Use any of the same recipes, but just leave out the vanilla. It's basically a flavoring. You could leave it out, or if you have a different extract, like peppermint or almond, you could use that as well.

You can leave out the vanilla. It just makes the frosting taste slightly different...but not bad. The frosting might just be a bit sweeter (sugary).

Frosting can be powder sugar and melted butter with a raw egg which gives it the texture.
