You have to use the JVC removal keys, which are basically flat strips of metal about 1/4" wide and 4" long. They slide in on the sides of the deck to release it from the mounting sleeve. To use them, remove the face plate and then the trim ring that goes around the face plate. Once the trim ring is removed you'll see the slots for the keys; just push the keys in as far as they'll go on each side and it will release the tabs that lock the deck into the sleeve. Be sure to take along the wiring plug in the back of the deck as well as the mounting sleeve after the deck is removed from it; you'll need both for future installations.

If you don't have the JVC keys or anything that works like them, then go to a JVC or Pioneer dealer (Pioneer uses the same type of key) and they'll usually let you borrow or buy some.
