Is faith in Jesus and God just not enough to withstand questioning?

Is there something about Christianity that makes the ego fragile, or does it simply attract more people who suffer from that particular problem?

I'm just wondering, because historically Y!A has suffered an overwhelming imbalance in the number of non-christian questions and posters who get yanked as opposed to christian questions and posters.

Unless it's your opinion that Y!A is a sanctioned Christian organization, you should refrain from accusing Christians of being censors when we don't determine what gets pulled and what doesn't. I'm sure God doesn't mind your questioning Him or His religion. It has withstood over 2000 years of scrutiny and questions, and still stands. Actually, I welcome them myself, because many questions that are asked here are based on incorrect presumptions that people have made. And it's only because they won't do any research first before they ask the question. Other statements are made quoting Scripture by taking an isolated verse out of the Bible, out of context, and therefore clouding its meaning. Upon further examination, the meaning would be clear if they would have just read the whole letter or chapter.

I'm afraid that you're looking at it wrong. First, Christians do censor, and have long practiced this. Remember, Christianity was formed in the ancient world, and the concept that censorship, in general, is bad is relatively new (and is really still an experiment that may actually end badly).

Secondly, other groups do censor. In Islamic nations, if you publish something that blasphemes the prophet, you could lose your head (the translator of the book "The Satanic Verses" into Japanese was murdered for the deed). In Communist nations, censorship was very much alive and forceful, and even today, there are anti-hijab laws passed in France, and hate-speech laws in many of the nations in the West. People have been jailed under these laws for expressing their opinions, but this was generally secularists as a group, and not Christians, that did these.

Then there is the "mild" form of censorship. If a politician were to express pro-Nazi sympathies, he'll lose his job (and this is a good thing). If you are labeled $INSERT_LABELphobic, then it will kill your career also. When people attack any theory for being "religious" and oppose its expression in the state or schools, this is censorship (again, not necessarily bad in all cases). Any sort of political labeling designed to intimidate with peer pressure, even if it isn't by force of law, is a form of censorship.

In summary, Christians aren't the only ones who do it, and it will always be present in some form. It's an inescapable reality, and if any group or individual stops seeing that they does it, then the same will also be more liable to overlook their own abuses of it.

Christians don't fear questions. When a forum for people of faiths can discuss issues gets overwhelmed with a bunch of belligerent unbelievers it is the only way the forum can be policed before it completely loses its platform for which it was made.

Because MOST Christians are not on here cussing and trying to be abusive to others! This is not an ADULT site meant for people over eighteen. There are all kinds of children on here that don't need to hear a bunch of hateful slander.

In here? Why would I censor people in here? I find that idea rather silly. And those who constantly use the Report Abuse, just seems to me they can't handle what they read (maybe they should find something else to do then?). But, they can do it all they like... it obviously does absolutely nothing but get them marked for a major roasting in here.

It's simply a case of numbers.

A jerk who attacks people for no reason is over 80% likely to be a Christian if they live in the US.
