lol...that is funny! if they were any type of serious tho they would have slipped their number in the bill when they handed it to you.

lol....actually the waiter was making eye contact for a different reason !!!
I was on a first date with a guy and we went to a restaurant. It turned out we were sitting in the section of a waiter who was my last bf......Woah!!! Was not expecting to see him at all cause he was suppose to be living in a whole other town far far away. It almost ruined the date because my date thought I was eyeing the waiter so I had to tell him when the waiter/ex left us alone again the whole story.

Strike the hammer while the iron is hot!! Next time excuse yourself to......use the bathroom, take an important call, etc. and get yourself over to the server, out of view from your date. Assess the interest and if it's there, get her number and tell her you'll get in touch. Then, go back to your date and make sure you devote all your attention to her for the rest of the night. At least you have another option for the next day. An added bonus is you will be acting alot "smoother" with your date. You'll be more relaxed with your date knowing there's other options out there. When men concentrate on one woman, they act less casual thinking if they say or do the wrong thing, they'll screw it up.

I might have done something like that prior to 1989. However, I started dating Lisa in 1989 and married her in 1994. I am permanently and happily off the market.

I would not be encouraging the advances of others. If the first pass was totally unwarranted it would be dealt with and there would be no others. If unable to deal with it, I would tell my date, embarrass the offending wait person, call the manager, whatever it took.
Very rare person that will come on to another, under those circumstances, with no encouragement.

When one is deeply and truly in love, one does not look for another date. Indeed, one would look down on the devil trying to spoil one's utopia. However, a randy fellow will capitalize on such an opportunity. I would have jumped at the opportunity at the time I saw dating as an adventure to show off my dating prowess to my friends.

Well, depends on how you feel about the person you were on the date with...if you aren't really interested, then sure go back and get the number. If you are regularly dating the person you were with and if you wish to continue dating them then I would say no.

If the wiater or waitress is cheap and classless enough to hit on you while you are cleary with someone, they are just a cheap, tacky piece of you-know-what. They don't know that that isn't your husband/wife. They probably have one, too. Sounds like herpes-contracting fun to me.

a wine waiter did this to me once in Spain, i found it insulting to my partner. never reported him though, just complained about the wine, this sorted him out. but i was a bit complimented, only did it cos of my partner. if i had of been single and fancy free. wouldn't of been a problem
