Pig Intestines, or more specifically, the outer skin of the intestine.

Hot Dogs are from what are called edible renderings which are the meats cut off while trimming and they do not want to toss them, they just take them and grind them together and sell them as food. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

When it comes to Turkey Franks or other foods, its the same thing but with the exception of Kosher dogs, all use the same outer liner while Kosher can't contaIn any pork products.

The casings that hot dogs in vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some use vegetable based materials and some use linings of other parts of the animal. Most have to be economical and not interfere with the taste of the dog, and some hotdogs, such as Nathan's have to have a particular "snap" when the dog is bitten in to, so they have their own casings. You can purchase sausage or hot dog casings and make your own. I wouldn't be as worried about the casing as much as I would about the hot dog itself!

REAL hotdogs are intestines, the other fake (popular) hotdogs are no casing, just the lard & random pieces of meat stuffed into a tube and "formed" in that shape.

Intestine, the process of this is you get the meat and put it up in a grinder so it comes out looking all mushy then you take this this (intestine) i sort of looks like a condom. Then you push a button and it fills up the intestine with all of the ground up parts.

This video explains how its done.

I quit eating stuff like that a long time ago. Can't imagine what a factory like that must smell like. Who wants to knowingly wrap their mouths around pig fecal canals stuffed with a little bit of everything.
