Luke 19:27-8
27 But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them - bring them here and kill them in front of me.
28 After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

Would you trust a guy that lead by forced attrition of those that did not follow him? I sure as heck don't.

Jesus said there were six possible witnesses to His person (already evident in John);
1. He id not yet claim His own witness to Himself (v 33-35)
Contrast this with His later claim in 8:14
2. John the Baptist was a witness (v 33-35)
3. His works or miracles are a witness.(v 36)
4. The Father witnessed to His sonship (v 37, 38)
5. the Scriptures bear witness to Him (v 39,40)
6. Moses wrote of Him (v 45-47)

Yes, you can TRUST Jesus. Jesus will judge all men.

John 18:4 Jesus says that all his statements about himself is true and what his record of deeds is true.

John 5:31 Jesus replies to the pharisees ( Jewish leaders ) that John the baptist testifies that Jesus is who he is. But He does not have the weight of Jesus's testimony and that Jesus's also testimony of himself in human form is not a weighted as God's testimony when Jesus was baptized and God's spirit descended over Jesus at the time of his baptism by John the baptist and God's voice testified " This is my son for I am pleased."
You should be more aware of content and the Bible's way of hidden meanings and parables.

yes you can trust Jesus, if you read John 8 verse 13 it says "the Pharisees therefor said unto him Thou bearest record of thyself, thy record is not true"
he was talking to Jesus

and then Jesus replied in verse 14 " Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came and wither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come and wither I go"
15, Ye judge the flesh after the flesh; I judge no man
16, and yet if I judge my judgement is true for I am not alone, but I and the father that sent me

John 5:31 "If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true."
verse 32 " There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness that he witnesseth of me is true"( God)

He was talking to the Jews, they sought to kill him because he said God was his father and he broke the sabbath, he was mearly telling them that Gods witness of him is more important than his witness of himself,
theoretically
Say if I told you I were Donald Trumps daughter, you wouldn't believe me unless the Donald himself told you so,
pretty much the same here

My dad has told me in order to understand something fully, you must read the: pretext, the text and, the post text (beginning, middle, and the end)

if you will take the time to read the full chapter you will understand what was ment. in chapter 5 he was talking to the Jews and in Chapter 8 he was talking to the Pharisees. Two different occasions.

Many people want to pick and choose out of the Bible so they can prove that it is wrong, they are playing into the devils hands when they do that. They have nothing to prove but their ignorance. I choose to believe every word of the Bible and I take it as a literal meaning. Thank you for getting me to study a little more! God Bless

To place both verses in context: Jesus is saying that there are TWO who bear witness of Him God the Father and Himself. He is using logic to emphasize that it isn't just His word or witness. In chap. 5 He added that John the Baptist knew also.

Witness = to testify, give good, honest report of...

Record = yes, one and the same..they are one 3141 3140 from root 3144 Which by the way..is witness via martyrdom.

Matthew 13:35
This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet: "I will open my mouth in parables;I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."

To believers:
Mark 4:11
And he said to them, "To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables,

-That is why many do not understand- But INDEED I can only trust Jesus! I would trust no one else in place of Him! There is A LOT we have to learn of God- and it is only through HIS spirit that we can know- for His spirit is what leads us into all truth- once we are saved in Him.

-P.S most importantly, are you keeping those scriptures in context? Did you read the entire chapters? ---I'll get back to you if you really want to discuss it, you can e mail me.
