I am a fan of both, but the problem with Heineken is that it tends to "turn" rather quickly, especially if it is warmed and then cooled again. Guinness as a company has very strict handling rules with respect their product and thus you never really get a bad pint of Guinness. They have actually been known to remove kegs from an establishment if the lines have not been purged, the beer was not at the right temp, etc. Buy a six pack of Heineken at the local bodega and you are pretty much rolling the dice as to whether it has skunked or not.

I had a Heineken in France on draft. It was wonderful and absolutely fresh, not like the green bottled mystery beer we get in the states. Guiness is great too, a complete 180 degree turn from Heineken, and they both have strict purity standards. I guess Heineken is considered a lesser beer in Europe, but that could be each countries prejudice against anything that isn't made within their border. If you want to drink exported beers, there are plenty of good choices other than Heineken, like Pilsner Urquel, Warstiner, Bitberger, etc. .

what is wrong with the guy that said Guiness is not a beer because it is a stout. If you dont know what you are talking about, dont post. Stout is an Ale. Of course it is a beer. Check out my link and get a clue.
As to your question, I like Guiness more than Heineken.

I don't like Heineken. It tastes... off somehow. Between the two, I'd go with Guiness, but I prefer Bud Light.

Guiness is technically a stout and not a beer. I prefer Guiness to Heineken, but I do like them both.

Depends on my mood. If i want to sit and sip, Guiness. If I want to power drink, Heini. Although I prefer the New Belgium brands (Fat Tire, 2 Below, Skinny Dip and I'd like to try the Springboard).
