The USA is following Mexico into a third world economy where only the elite have money and the rest barely manage to survive and pay taxes, resources and job opportunities are decreasing, and government politicians chase special intrest groups for their votes and bribe them with money from taxpayers pockets. (Like when a previous Mexican President handed out free washing machines to people who didn't even have running water, to get their votes). When resources and jobs get scarce people start blaming each other, and those who have already committed a felony by breaking the immigration law, are an easy target. Plus Mexicans here illegally are willing to do immoral or degrading things their employers demand just to stay in the country, and most Americans are not willing to act like "slaves" for the rich. This is HUMAN NATURE, like it or not, all of recorded history is full of this type of conflict, it's the fight for resources, not ideologies, that cause wars. Thet said I have a friend from the Phillipines,a computer programer/software engineer, waiting on an immigration request, who is watching how illegal, unskilled Mexicans are getting preference for citizenship, asking me why the discrimination? I can't defend anyone in my country's government, not even those I voted for, on this. I don't blame teh people, I blame the corrupt government of both the USA and Mexico, we should have the SAME regulations as Mexico does on work visas, immigration and foreign investment, as Mexico's are far more restrictive and anti-American than ours are anti-Mexican, they want only Mexicans controlling teh wealth and economy in Mexico, so Americans can't own waterfront property, invest in the oilfield infrastructure that is decades behind the rest of the world, etc. which would create jobs for Mexicans in Mexico. Our government needs to stop exporting jobs to foreign countries with lower or no labor or enviromental standards, or we will be in the same shape as Mexico, looking for a country with employment and opportunity to buy your own home and raise a family and not taxed to death or into homelessness, which is beginning to happen here. People can't attack their government, but they will sometimes attack those who legally, don't exist here, and won't be missed, and that is happening to illegals, we have to face the truth. They say all along the border are trees with women's undergarments they have been raped under as they illegally crossed the border into the USA. They say women fear using the port-a-johns on croplands when harvesting for the same reason, because they count on illegals not reporting such crimes.

So everyone wants a better place at our expense? Isn't that selfish? All we want is for everyone who comes to our country to follow our laws and do things our way. If you cannot do that, please don't bother to come here. We are not against immigrants, only illegal immigrants, those who commit crimes to be here.
We don't want the drugs, the crime, the gangs, or certain ways of illegal immigrants, like the sexism, sexual harassment, or abuse on women that a lot of foreign men bring. We are one of the few nations that sees women as 100% equal to men and not property. Illegal aliens are more likely to rape and commit sex crimes than legal aliens or born citizens. In our neighborhood, nearly every Hispanic male thinks that every woman they see is a prostitute. I know all are not like that, but we neither need nor want those who are. I guess those who thumbed me down hate women and see us as property or second-class citizens. How sad.
If folks below us want a better nation, why don't they spend all the time they spend trying to change or destroy the USA changing their own country and their own laws instead? If the USA is so good (and it is becoming more of a sewer everyday because of outsiders crowding out ALL the traits that made America great), then why not turn Mexico into a little USA? If your leaders are so bad down there and your laws so oppressive, why not riot down there? Why not do what it takes to get brutal and oppressive leaders out of power?

Before I answer your question, I'm not going to debate legal and illegal immigration - because thats not what your asking about, with that said, here is my answer:
I'ts sad.....very sad. I read some of the answers to your question, and there are quite a few that are filled with negativity! And what really strikes me as about ALL of those disapproving answers is this: EACH AND EVERY PERSON IN THIS COUNTRY IS A DECENDANT OF AN IMMIGRANT (with the exception of the american indian of course) AND I CAN SURMISE THAT EVERY ONE WHO ANSWERS YOUR QUESTION IS EXACTLY THAT - THE DECENDANT OF AN IMMIGRANT.
This country was once known as the land of oppurtunity and was settled by millions of immigrants searching for a better life for themselves and their families. I like to think of America as still being that place, because without immigration, be it hundreds of years ago or yesterday, America would't exist.
My point is this: it sickens me that people feel the way they do, especially when you think that those same people wouldn't be here in this great country if their ancestors didn't leave their homeland searching for the same things that you came here for!! A BETTER LIFE!
Nuff said

No matter what your reasons are, there are laws that apply to coming to the USA. You do not have the right to think because of what your needs are, that our laws dont apply to you . I needed help with doctors bills etc when I lost my wife but I didnt ask for help. I just paid for everything by pushing myself to make more money to pay them.
The USA is not responsible for your problems so why should the US have to pay for them ? I got feelings for your problems but I dont want illegal aliens here taking what doesnt belong to them. I own a construction company and I dont hire any one that I cant check on and make sure they are here legally.

I think Anti's don't like the fact that we're different. Just read some of these ridiculous question and answers on here! I know this category was set up to help people with immigration questions, not illegal immigration.
It turns out to be like flies to honey, the haters got a whiff of the hatred and they are all on here spreading their hate. People on here talk about shooting, killing the people trying to cross the border. It reminds me of the Palestine's and the Jews. We frown at the horror of what is going on over there, yet we're cheering for the same to happen here. HOW HORRIBLE.

Get alone?
First: learn proper English.
Second: Wait your turn.
It's not fair that you force your way into this country illegally when there are so many others that are suffering just as much as you if not more, in other parts of the world and have been waiting many years to come here legally -and you, just because it's easier for you to cross the border, you think you deserve it more than they? Why? what makes you think you're so special?

Simpily put: Bandwagon. 90% of the posters are ignorant to facts pertaining to the cause of illegal immigration. They assume you are hendering their life when in actuality if the shoe was on the other foot we would illegal hope your border. Hate is the root of the debate. People like Lou Dobbs aggitate the situation and cause racisim to breed. It is sad when a little child (hispanic) comes home from school and says 'why do they hate me'? Just because he was hispanic? You all who are filled with hate and negativety are paving the road for tomorrow. Your effectevly brainwashing these kids into feeling superior (American kids) and latino children into thinking they are trash....YOU are the ones I wish would get deported.

Oh, get off it. If you wanted a better life, you would do it legally. You're simply trying to justify your criminal activities and make us feel sorry for you. The fact is that if you want a better life, you should make it in your own country. Change your country and leave us alone. We don't want or need lawbreakers living in the USA for any reason whatsoever! We have millions of poor citizens who would like better lives too but they don't get to avoid the law and are often imprisoned just for stealing food to feed their children! You'll find sympathy here but only between sh_t and syphillus in the dictionary and with your sons and daughters of illegal immigrants. We don't want you or your family members. Go home and change your own government and your own country. March on Mexican streets and disobey your own laws to make a better life for yourself. Zero tolerance for lawbreakers in the USA. No more Mr. Nice Guy! You abused our generousity. You are criminals and you all belong in jail and your assets should be seized.

If all of you came here legally and didn't take handouts then we wouldn't have a problem with you at all. Seems like many take advantage and that is what we have a problem with. I would prefer if all illegals stayed in their own country and tried to make their country better, fight for some changes in your country and let us have our country that we worked hard for.

We get along just fine as long as you come legally. We dont want illegals here. You say you come for a better life but break the law to do it. Why should you be able to do that? I cant get away with robbing a bank (break the law) to have a better life.
